Scarecrow Festival is family friendly and has lots of children events & activities:

 

St. Charles’ Scarecrow Festival is proudly produced by the St. Charles Convention & Visitors Bureauand built on traditions.  In addition to Scarecrows on display in Lincoln Park, making your own scarecrow to take home, live entertainment, carnival, great food, and the naturally charming atmosphere of  the St. Charles community, a foundation of our family-oriented festival is the fact that, every year  there are new things to see and experience. 

Here are highlights of the events/activities that are kid friendly!

 

  • Make Your Own Scarecrow -  Fri, Sat & Sun 11-4; $2 per family! Construct a scarecrow to take home – along with fond memories of this unique fall activity. Local Boy Scout Troop #60 is on hand to help with a supply of clothes and straw!  We encourage you to bring your own favorite Scarecrow long sleeve shirt or pants. ..sometimes we do run out!  One scarecrow per family per visit please!

  • Meijer Kids Zone - Saturday from Noon-3...FREE EVENT

Three hours of family friendly live entertainment including storytelling, vaudeville, martial arts, dancing, face painting and a lots of make it & take it crafts in LincolnPark’s main tent. Crafts provided by Tri City Mothers of Twins and Triplets!!

  • The Chevy Family Experience Tour

  •  Build & Fly a Rocket - Saturday and Sunday 11am to 4pm

            Build a working paper rocket from materials we supply.  When you're finished building  you                may launch your rocket in our flying area.  Kids can take the completed rockets home.                      Rockets fly 100 to 300 feet in the air!  This activity promotes creativity while teaching a little         bit of rocketry and physics.

 

  • Coloring Tent -  Fri-Sun 9am-6pm  Coloring fun for all ages!  Color cardboard house & scarecrow coloring sheets.

           Lil' Kickers is a nationally renowned, non-competitive child development soccer program for            boys and girls ages 18 months to 9years. This program introduces children to the concept of           soccer,    w  hile also developing movement and interaction skills.   • Valley Model Railroad Show - Fri-Sun 9am-4pm Held in the midst of the festival’s west side and at the VFW, the Valley Model Railroad Club of South Elgin showcases 20 train displays.  Toddlers & pre-schoolchildren can receive an engineer certificate when they learn to how to operate Thomas the Tank Engine. www.trainweb.org/vmrr/index.htm
