Welcome to the Fest!
Join generations of moms and dads, grandmas & grandpas, sisters, brothers, aunts, uncles, friends and neighbors who flock to our grand downtown event. The heart of our festival is on the Fox River's west side in Lincoln Park - where hundreds of hand-crafted, whimsical Scarecrows are on display. (Vote for your FAV!) The soul of the festival is its tradition of family memories. Kids of the 80's are now bringing their OWN children to share the fun! Enjoy the carnival! Browse the HUGE Autumn on the Fox Arts and Crafts Show! See live entertainment and, of course, munch on delicious food - available throughout the festival and at the note-worthy pubs and cafes of St. Charles. FREE ADMISSION, PARKING, SHUTTLE & TROLLEY!

Recognized last year by MSN as one of the country’s Top Spots for Autumn, St. Charles’ Scarecrow Festival is a "natural" choice for a three-day getaway. Eleven hotels located within five minutes’ drive to the festival offer reasonable rates for the Columbus Day weekend - including Pheasant Run Resort, the Midwest's premier entertainment resort, and Hotel Baker, located right in the center of downtown. St. Charles has "charming" places to rest after your fun day at the fest.

A little about St. Charles...

An hour west of Chicago, St. Charles is located between I-90 and 88 and 15 miles west of 355.

As the Fox River winds its way through our community, St. Charles’ east and west banks offer striking architecture, excellent dining, and several shopping districts.

Main Street Bridge offers spectacular views of charming paddlewheel boats filled with visitors enjoying our beautiful valley.

Our "antiquing" reputation comes from the monthly Kane County Flea Market and antique stores that dot our downtown.

Theater lovers are delighted by award-winning performances of Noble Fool Theatricals, Zanies Comedy Club and Main Street’s Steel Beam Theatre.

Our Festival is just one of many "charms" of St. Charles!

Missing Scarecrow Report!

The festival committee is in search of any information regarding the disappearance of several Scarecrow Contest Entries.  The creators of these entries returned Sunday to pick up their scarecrows with plans to display them for personal or business use.  Specifically, Area Business Category #21 (“Web Design”), was missing and created by Indetail Design. www.indetaildesign.com

We know how many hours of work goes into creating the entries & how disappointing it is to find an empty space where the entry was displayed or missing pieces.

In an effort to prevent this situation, the festival committee will post signage reminding everyone that the scarecrow entries are the property of the submitting parties.

Recovery of the missing scarecrows is sought . . . . please return to the

Visitors Bureau – no questions asked!
