The 38th annual Scarecrow Weekend, presented by St. Charles Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram, will be held October 6th-8th in downtown St. Charles, Illinois. 

85+ handmade scarecrows will be showcased around town for visitors to view and vote on their favorites. There will be a Family Zone with live entertainment and family fun as well as an Activity Zone with festive photo ops, Scarecrow-to-Go and family activities. 

While visiting, make sure to treat yourself to many sales, specials, and events throughout town including the Autumn on the Fox Craft Show in Pottawatomie Park.

Take a Sneak Peek at 5 Can't-Miss Attractions at This Year's Scarecrow Weekend.

  • How do I vote for my favorite scarecrow entries?
    Pick up and return voting sheets to the Information Booths located in the Family Zone in Lincoln Park and in front of the Municipal Building, or at the voting box located at the Activity Zone on Riverside Ave. You can also vote by downloading the Travel St. Charles app and scanning the QR code displayed on your favorite scarecrow. To download the Travel St. Charles app, please click HERE. Voting starts Friday at noon and closes on Sunday at 5 p.m. One voting slip per person.
  • Where are the scarecrows located?
    Scarecrows will be displayed throughout the Family Zone in Lincoln Park, and in the Activity Zone on Riverside Avenue. Reference the 2023 Scarecrow Map for all the scarecrow entries.
  • Will there be food trucks?
    There will be no food trucks located in Lincoln Park. However, Just Kabobs will be selling food in Lincoln Park on Friday & Saturday, and the St. Charles Rotary and the St. Charles Kiwanis will also be selling food in the front Municipal Building Parking Lot. There will be a handful of local businesses that will be offering to-go/handheld options, as well.
  • Will there be carnival rides?
    There will be no carnival at Scarecrow Weekend. However, there will be a Family Zone with live entertainment and many family activities as well as an Activity Zone with Festive Photo Ops, Scarecrow-to-Go, and a professional pumpkin carver.
  • How much is Scarecrow-to-Go?
    $10 per box. Each bag will include panty hose, twine, an outfit, straw to stuff the scarecrow and directions.
  • Where can I park?
    There is free parking all around the city. To view the city parking map, please click HERE. You can also download our Travel St. Charles App HERE, and click on the parking tab to find all St. Charles public parking garages, as well as additional public parking lots available.
  • Where are the bathrooms?
    There are portable restrooms at Lincoln Park and on the east side of the Municipal Building on Riverside Avenue. The Municipal Building is located at 2 E. Main St., St. Charles, IL 60174.
  • Will there be a shuttle?
    There will not be a shuttle at Scarecrow Weekend. However, there is free parking available all throughout downtown St. Charles. You can find all the available parking HERE, or on the Travel St. Charles App HERE.
